Supporting Manwood’s

Welcome to the website that enables everyone in our school community to support Manwood's and its pupils.

Our school was founded on the philanthropy of Sir Roger Manwood, who provided the money to establish a free grammar school in Sandwich in 1563. Over 460 years later, the principles of both a free grammar school and philanthropy remain. This website enables the whole Manwood’s community to support today’s pupils and the school; whether you are an Old Manwoodian or if you have ever been a parent, member of staff, governor or a supportive member of the local community.

Major projects - The Grange

Since the sad closure of boarding, we have used The Grange as the base for our Sixth Form but haven't had the money to make the most of the building's amazing potential. The school will commit £1.5m to pay for the structural changes needed to turn dormitories into 7 new classrooms and create 4 study and social areas. But, if we are going to turn The Grange into an amazing home for our Sixth Form, we need your help. We are part way through a year of fundraising events, grant applications and sponsorships to raise the £0.5m we need and our video tells you more about what that money will achieve.
