We have an amazing opportunity for you to win a week's stay at a 200 year old home in the mountains of Spain's Costa Blanca and £1,000 of holiday spending money. The house is located in a village in the Vall de Laguar; just an hour from either Alicante or Valencia airports. We have been offered this amazing prize by a former parent who has asked that the proceeds go towards the refurbishment of The Grange. They have asked that we draw the winner as soon as we've sold 2,000 tickets.
Within an hour of the house, there are lots of attractions that are suitable for many different holiday makers:
- A 30 minute drive will take you to the wide sandy Denia beach (you can catch a ferry to Ibiza from Denia - two hours on the boat)
- Children will love Aqualandia (water park) and Terra Mitica (theme park)
- Hikers will enjoy the walks directly from the house - the Barranc de L'Infern is an amazing walk through this rugged landscape
- The beautiful and vibrant cities of Alicante and Valencia
- The night life of Benidorm
- Golfers can enjoy a wide choice of courses in the region
- There is a thriving wine industry in the Alicante region
- The village has a bar and small shop and the village swimming pool is a 10 minute walk from the house. The nearest supermarket is just a 10 minute drive away and it's just five minutes to a fantastic local restaurant perched on the nearest hilltop
The house
The house is over 200 years old but has recently been renovated. The accommodation consists of two flats and one or both are available to the winner. The house has just been insulated and is sustainably heated and cooled using its air source heat pump as well as having solar panels, making cool in summer and warm in winter.
- Downstairs - over two floors. Sleeps 4. There are two double bedrooms, two shower rooms (one en suite) a kitchen/dining room and access to the outside garden area with BBQ. There is a utility room with washing machine and there is broadband available. The downstairs flat is fully air conditioned.
- Upstairs - on one floor. There are two bedrooms that can sleep a total of 4. One is a double and one has bunk beds. There is a bathroom as well as a kitchen/dining room and a terrace area with an incredible view down to the coast (on a clear day you can even see Ibiza). There is a utility room with washing machine and broadband is available.
Availability
The owner is happy for the winner to have the house for a week at any time during 2025 or 2026. They are happy for the week to be taken during term time or the school holidays (although if students of Manwood's are going, then it would need to be in the school holidays). The winner will need to check their preferred dates with the owner to ensure that there are no clashes with when they are planning to use it.
Terms and conditions of Raffle participation:
The Terms and Conditions shall be governed by English law, and all parties are deemed to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. The Terms and Conditions assume that you have acted like a prudent individual. If you choose to participate in this competition without taking normal precautions, you do so at your own risk. Sir Roger Manwood’s School does not offer any competitions in any jurisdiction where such an offer or solicitation is unlawful or would impose any unfulfilled registration, qualification, publication, or approval requirements. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are not located in a jurisdiction where it is not unlawful for you to enter or participate in such competitions.
1. By purchasing an entry you agree to these terms and conditions. Any participation instructions form part of these terms and conditions. Any entry not complying with these terms and conditions will be invalid. Sir Roger Manwood’s School's decisions pursuant to these terms and conditions shall be final and binding.
2. You represent and agree that:
a. You are 18 years of age or over.
b. You are a resident of the United Kingdom.
c. You will not buy or purport to buy an entry in this raffle on behalf of anybody under the age of 18.
d. You will provide accurate entry information, including your name and personal address
3. You agree that you shall not be entitled to receive any prize if you are unable to substantiate to the Promoter your representations under paragraph 2.
4. Entry is open to all residents of the UK.
5. Entry costs £10.00 per play, payable in advance. Entries may not be sold to or by anyone under 18 years of age. Each ticket represents one entry only.
6. Sir Roger Manwood’s School may (without giving any reason or notice, at its absolute discretion) terminate or suspend the raffle.
7. The Win a week in a Spanish holiday home in the mountains of the Costa Blanca and £1,000 of holiday spending money. Sleeps up to 8. Raffle draw will be conducted on 18/07/2025, or as soon as 2000 tickets have been sold. The draw takes place with the winner being chosen by random. The results of the draw are final.
8. All participants will be notified once the draw has been made. A list of winning ticket numbers will be made available within 7 days of the draw, unless there are delays in contacting the winners, in which case the list will be made available as soon as the winners' names are finalised. There are no alternatives to any prize except where stated and no interest is payable.
9. Sir Roger Manwood’s School reserves the right to substitute a prize for a prize of equivalent or greater value, or at its sole discretion, the cash value of a prize, if this is necessary for reasons beyond Sir Roger Manwood’s School’s control.
